History of the Area:

In the late 1800's gold was discovered in the Little Rocky Mountains. As a result prospectors flooded the area and the mining towns of Zortman and Landusky were established. It is estimated that the Zortman-Landusky mines have produced over $450 million in gold in the last 100+ years.
