Sans Bois Mountain Recreational Hunting Property and Cabin

Location:  This property is nestled in the heart of the Sans Bois Mountain Range in a very remote and secluded wilderness type setting surrounded by miles of privately owned timberlands.  This property is in South-eastern Oklahoma about 8 miles Northwest of the community of Wilburton, OK.  The well-known Robbers Cave State Park and the 21,350 acre James Collins Wildlife Management Area are just a few miles from the property.   The town of McAlester is about 20 miles West.  Tulsa is about 2.0 hrs.  Oklahoma City is about 3 hrs.  Dallas is about 3 hrs.  The perimeter of the property is outlined on a MapRight link at the bottom of this listing, which can be used to see the exact location of the property and estimate distance and drive time from your location to the property.

Services to Property:  Off-grid location.  Propane could be delivered to the property. Average rainfall in the area is 45 to 50 inches.  There is a cabin on this property that currently does not have a water well, but one could be drilled.  For more information about wells, we can furnish you a list of local water well drillers.

Access:  The property can be accessed by turning North off a county-maintained road (Highbridge) and then traveling North approximately 4.5 miles on a gravel natural gas lease road.  There are two locked gates as you turn north off Highbridge Road.  One gate is about 1 mile after you turn off Highbrige Road and the other gate is about 2 miles after you turn off Highbridge Road.  Also, there is a 3^rd locked entrance gate just as you reach the West property line.    

Water:  There is a year-round creek that flows through the property.  Also, there are 5 ponds that serve as a year-round source of water for wildlife.

Cabin:  There is a 20 foot wide x 24 foot long cabin located on the North side of the property.  This cabin has a concrete slab foundation and 2 x 4 stud walls with composite shingle roof.  The cabin is wired for a generator and has a stove pipe through the roof which would make it easy to install a wood burning stove.
